PLA Biodegradability Test Report

Issued by: National Research Center of Testing Techniques for Building Materials

Material Tested: PLA (Polylactic Acid) film — used as sealing material

Report Number: No. WT2023B01G01675

Test Period: Jan 18 – Mar 24, 2023

Test Requested By: Foshan Nanhai Baiyun Plastic Products Co., Ltd.

Main Purpose of the Test

To assess the biodegradability of PLA film under industrial composting conditions.

Test Method & Standard

GB/T 19277.1-2011

(Equivalent to ISO 14855-1: biodegradability under controlled composting conditions)

Simulated composting chamber with controlled temperature, humidity, and microbial environment

45 days

CO₂ evolution rate as an indicator of degradation

Conclusion: The PLA material tested achieved a biodegradation rate of 90% within 45 days, which exceeds the standard requirement (60% within 180 days), confirming it is fully compostable under industrial composting conditions.

Final Remark for Customers

The PLA sealing material used in our packaging has been independently tested and certified to biodegrade quickly and safely under industrial composting conditions — achieving 90% decomposition in just 45 days.

We use it to ensure that even the smallest elements of our packaging align with our plastic-free, planet-conscious philosophy.
